Early Years and Primary Geography – The Geographical Association Primary Geography Quality Mark (PQM)

The GA is developing a Primary Geography Quality Mark. This is an award for primary schools who are doing good geography.

  • It can be gained at one of three levels: bronze, silver or gold
  • It is based on clear, simple criteria on subject management, teachers and teaching, pupils and learning, and broader opportunities
  • It is a school self-evaluation tool
  • The criteria are cross-referenced back to the new Ofsted self-evaluation form S4.
  • The GA is working to obtain the endorsement of DfES and Ofsted.
